In 1993, Habitat for Humanity Michigan was established and its first board of  directors selected. HFH Michigan is proud to be the first successful Affiliate Support  Organization in the country. Now there are ASO’s in 30 states modeled after  HFHM. The ASO model is having a significant impact, strengthening and  supporting the work of local Habitat affiliates.

Habitat for Humanity believes every man, woman, and child should have a safe,  decent, and affordable home. To make this possible, Habitat for Humanity of  Michigan partners with HFH affiliates throughout the state to assist them in  reaching their maximum sustainable capacity within their individual  communities by supporting the further development of their leadership,  procedures, and resources.
